OVERVIEW
1. FC Nürnbergg Building a scalable tactical video workflow
Panoris began working with 1. FC Nürnberg in 2020. The goal was to introduce a tactical video system that supports both training and match analysis. The initial setup created a reliable video foundation for daily football operations. Over time, the project developed into a long-term collaboration. The system was not treated as a one-time installation. It was continuously optimised to reflect real workflows, infrastructure conditions and the club’s analysis needs. Today, the setup represents a scalable tactical video solution for professional football. It combines recording, management and access to high-quality footage across multiple training environments.
Challenges
What needed to be solved
Adapting a tactical video system to real training ground conditions requires more than standard deployment. The setup had to reflect infrastructure limitations, operational needs and the club’s day-to-day workflows.
Adapting the system to environments with restricted network connectivity.
Ensuring reliable long-term performance in technically constrained conditions.
Expanding video capture across multiple training pitches.
Enabling simultaneous recording and analysis on several pitches.
Matching the system to real coaching and analysis routines.
Designing deployment across different pitch types and use cases.
Handling installation constraints specific to each location.
Transitioning from a limited setup to a more integrated video workflow.
SOLUTIONS
How the setup was expanded
Panoris worked closely with 1. FC Nürnberg to redesign the tactical video setup around real operational needs. The project combined system expansion, more flexible control and a tailored approach to individual pitches and infrastructure conditions. The system was expanded to increase coverage, improve capacity and better reflect real training workflows.
A foundation for video capture with limited capacity and flexibility.
Initial deployment included 4 pitches equipped with sideline camera systems for recording and analysis.
Two workstations were used for video operation. One supported the first team and one the academy.
The setup provided a solid foundation for training analysis but with limited capacity and flexibility.
Broader coverage, higher capacity and a setup aligned with real workflows.
The system was expanded to 5 pitches, allowing broader coverage across the training centre.
Operational capacity increased to 5 workstations, enabling more simultaneous usage across teams and staff.
The next phase includes deployment of 5 goal cameras to support deeper tactical analysis.
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
How the project evolved
The project developed over time through close collaboration between Panoris and the club. As the system expanded, the setup was gradually refined to better reflect real workflows, operational needs and infrastructure conditions. An important step was the introduction of a dedicated system owner on the club side. This improved communication, clarified requirements and allowed the system to be configured more precisely for daily use. At the same time, infrastructure upgrades enabled better connectivity across the training centre. This created a stronger foundation for system stability and future expansion.
Benefits & Results
What changed with the new setup
Video coverage increased from 4 to 5 pitches across the training centre.
Operational capacity increased from 2 to 5 workstations for broader usage.
Multiple pitches can now be recorded and analysed at the same time.
Each pitch is configured based on its real role and daily use.
A stronger foundation for reliable long-term system performance.
Planned deployment of 5 goal cameras to support deeper analysis workflows.
The Panoris App enables easier access and remote system control.
The setup better reflects the club’s real day-to-day workflows and needs.
